The Staincliffe Hotel

Built in 1869, with stunning views of the North Sea, The Staincliffe Hotel is one the most historic hotels in Hartlepool. This grand seaside hotel is warm and welcoming with friendly staff and comfortable rooms for a relaxing stay. The large villa was built as a home for the wealthy Hartlepool merchant Thomas Walker. Following Walkers death, the property was used as a convalescence home until 1929 when it was converted into a hotel. The building is of brick construction, painted and rendered, under a mixture of pitched and hipped roofs of slate. Its eclectic styling consists of several sections, including a main central section to the front of two storeys with attics and cellars. The hotel now offers what is arguably the best venue in Hartlepool for entertainment and relaxation. Enjoy and overnight stay at our seaside hotel in North Yorkshire, near Hartlepool, in one of the 21 bedrooms, plan your perfect day and host your wedding or business meeting in our function rooms. Whatever the reason for your stay at our Seaton Carew hotel, the Staincliffe team look forward to welcoming you and making your stay as enjoyable as it has been for generations of visitors.
